The Allen-Bradley 2080-LC50-24QBB is a compact controller that is part of the Micro 850 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This controller is suitable for use in small machine or industrial processes, applicable in wide variety of applications.
The 2080-LC50-24QBB comes with built-in input and output channels as well as a support for a variety of communication protocols. This controller has integrated Fourteen (14) input channels that operate at nominal voltages of 24VDC and 24VAC, 50/60 Hz. Eight (8) of the input channels, particularly inputs 0-7 are high-speed input channels while inputs 8-14 are standard input channels. The high-speed inputs have an On-state voltage range 16.8…26.4V DC @ 65°C (149°F) and 16.8…30.0V DC @ 30°C (86°F) while standard inputs has On-state voltage range of 10-26.4V DC @ 65°C (149°F) 10-30.0V DC @ 30°C (86°F).
The 2080-LC50-24QBB output channels are Ten (10) 24VDC sink / source output channels. Output 0-1 are high-speed channels with operating voltage range of 10.8-26.4 VDC while the standard output channels operate at 10-26.4 VDC with minimum load current of 10 mA. The common OFF and ON time of the high-speed outputs are 2.5 ?s while 0.1 ms for ON time and 1 ms for OFF of standard outputs. Both output type has a common surge current of 4.0 A for 10 ms every 1 s @ 30 °C; every 2 s @ 65 °C.
The 2080-LC50-24QBB has a variety of communication ports embedded to each controller. It has One (1) USB Type B port, One (1) RS232 / RS485 non-isolated combo port and One (1) Ethernet communication interface. The RS232 and Ethernet ports may be used to communication with visualization systems even with 3rd party software and devices. This controller is configured using the Connected Components Workbench (CCW).
An embedded USB 2.0 (non-isolated) port can be used for programming the PLC. Any standard USB printer cable can work with the embedded USB port. The 2080-LC50-24QBB unit also contains an Ethernet/IP Class 3 Modbus TCP (10-100Mbps) port used for programming, RTU applications, and HMI connectivity. The PLC has built-in support for 24 digital I/O (14 input and 10 output). Analog I/Os are supported via plug-in modules or with the expansion I/O modules. The 2080-LC50-24QBB can handle up to 3 plug-in modules and a maximum of 4 Micro800 expansion I/Os are supported. Up to 132 digital I/O can be supported by plug-in and expansion I/O modules.
Programming is made using the Connected Components Workbench which allows up to 10K program steps (or instructions) and 20KB of data. The other programming languages include the Ladder Diagram, Function Block, and Structured Text languages. User-defined function blocks, motion instructions, PID loop control and 32- and 64-bit floating point math are also supported. Embedded serial port protocols are the RS232/485, the Modbus RTU Master/ Slave, the ASCII, and the CIP protocols. The operating temperature range of the 2080-LC50-24QBB is from -20-65Â°C and the dimensions are 90 x 145 x 80 mm.
