System Overview

The 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System is a complete measurement solution consisting of:

One 3300 XL 8 mm probe
One 3300 XL extension cable
One 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor

This system generates an output voltage directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface, enabling measurement of both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. Primary applications include vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Advanced Performance Features

The 3300 XL 8 mm system represents the most advanced performance in eddy current proximity transducer technology. The standard 5-meter system fully complies with API 670 Standard requirements for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All system components are fully interchangeable, eliminating the need for component matching or bench calibration.

Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component maintains backward compatibility and interchangeability with other non-XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components, including the 3300 5 mm probe for applications with limited mounting space.

Proximitor Sensor Enhancements

The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor features significant improvements over previous designs. Its compact physical packaging supports high-density DIN-rail installations while maintaining compatibility with traditional panel mount configurations. The mounting base provides electrical isolation, eliminating the need for separate isolator plates.

Enhanced radio frequency interference immunity allows installation in fiberglass housings without adverse effects from nearby RF signals. This improved RFI/EMI immunity meets European CE mark approvals without requiring special shielded conduit or metallic housings, reducing installation costs and complexity.

SpringLoc terminal strips facilitate faster, more robust field wiring connections without special tools, eliminating screw-type clamping mechanisms that can loosen over time.

Probe and Cable Improvements

The 3300 XL probe and extension cable incorporate patented design enhancements. The TipLoc molding method creates a more robust bond between the probe tip and body, while the CableLoc design provides 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength for secure cable attachment.

Optional FluidLoc cable option prevents oil and other liquids from leaking through the cable interior, enhancing reliability in demanding industrial environments.

Connector System

All 3300 XL components feature corrosion-resistant, gold-plated ClickLoc connectors that require only finger-tight torque for secure connections, ensuring reliable performance with minimal installation effort.
