Small hygienic lines are unforgiving: once the flow drops to a few litres per hour, an oversized meter loses resolution and the batch drifts. The DN2 build of the Promag H 300 keeps a full-bore PFA liner and a compact sensor body exactly for this band, so dosing accuracy holds at the bottom of the range and the line stays drainable after CIP.

What the DN2 size changes in practice

Resolution at low flow: the sensor is sized for dosing lines of roughly 3–8 mm internal diameter instead of a throttled large meter
Short, full-bore measuring tube leaves little product trapped between batches
PFA liner with stainless steel housing, no elastomer in the measuring path except the seal
Same transmitter as the larger sizes, so spare parts and operator training stay common across a skid

Typical duties

Aroma, flavour and vitamin dosing into dairy or beverage streams
API, media and buffer addition on pilot and small-scale bioprocess skids
Filling machine feed lines where each shot must be metered, not timed
Hygienic test benches and validation rigs that need a traceable flow signal

Medium conductivity should be at least 5 µS/cm (about 20 µS/cm for demineralised water)
Plan straight runs of about 5 DN upstream and 3 DN downstream, and keep the tube full at zero flow
For plastic or lined piping, add grounding rings; empty pipe detection is available in the transmitter
Confirm the process connection and seal material against your existing hygienic union
