On CIP supply and return lines the meter has to survive caustic at 80 °C in one shift and cold rinse water in the next, then prove it still reads true. The DN40 version of the Promag H 300 is the size most often chosen for these circuits and for push-out of residual product before cleaning.

No moving parts and no cross-section constriction, so cleaning velocity is set by the pump, not by the sensor
Hygienic housing up to IP69 allows direct washdown of the transmitter compartment
