AMS Trex 2 Device Communicator

The AMS Trex 2 Device Communicator is a next-generation handheld for instrument technicians working with HART®, FOUNDATION™ fieldbus and Bluetooth®-enabled field devices. It configures, powers and troubleshoots devices both in the field and on the bench, and its EDDL-based device library lets one tool talk to instruments from almost any manufacturer.

What the Trex 2 Handles in the Field

  • Device configuration — commission and re-range HART and FOUNDATION fieldbus transmitters, valves and analyzers from a single handheld.
  • Loop diagnostics — test and troubleshoot 4-20 mA current loops without breaking the loop or carrying a separate meter.
  • Fieldbus diagnostics — check FOUNDATION fieldbus segments, device counts and signal levels on site.
  • Bench power — power one HART or fieldbus device for workshop configuration and verification.
  • Bluetooth connectivity — connect wirelessly to supported devices where safe access is difficult.
