Bently Nevada 3500/15 Universal AC Power Input Module — 106M1081-01

The Power Input Module (PIM) is the half-height input stage that sits directly behind its associated power supply in a Bently Nevada 3500 Series Machinery Protection rack. This item is the Universal AC Power Input Module, spare part 106M1081-01, the PIM used with the Universal AC Power Supply (106M1079-01) in the 3500/15-05-05-00 configuration.

Each 3500/15 power supply module is paired with its own PIM. The PIM conditions the incoming supply and carries the input protection, so a PIM fault stops that supply branch from powering the rack even if the supply module itself is healthy.

In the ordering code 3500/15-AABB-CC, the digits 05 in both the top-slot and bottom-slot positions specify Universal AC Voltage (85–264 Vac rms), and 00 in the approval position means no agency approval option. A rack built to 05-05-00 therefore carries two Universal AC supplies and two Universal AC PIMs — the lower slot is primary, the upper slot is backup, and either branch can power a full rack.

Applications

Bently Nevada 3500 machinery protection racks on turbines, compressors and large motor trains, where a failed input module takes a power branch out of service. Keeping a spare PIM on site allows a fast hot-swap of the affected branch while the second supply keeps the rack online.
