Product Description
AI-Tek Instruments BH1512-005 BH Series Bi-Directional Sensor
The BH Series from AI-Tek are bi-directional, zero velocity sensors that are self-calibrating to specific customer applications. These sensors provide two independent frequency outputs and a direction signal output to indicate changes in rotation direction of the sensed ferrous target.
Dual-Channel Sensing Technology
The BH Series bi-directional sensor utilizes two Hall effect sensing elements that are physically offset from each other. Each element generates a single channel of target information, identical in frequency and polarity, but offset in the time domain (phase shifted).
Operation Principle
Special circuits inside the sensor calibrate each channel to its application target, then analyze the two channels of information for phase lead/lag conditions. The direction output provides a logic 1 level for clockwise or logic 0 for counterclockwise rotation, assuming proper sensor orientation.
For applications with cable runs exceeding 500 feet, a Digital Signal Distance Amplifier (DSDA) is required.
